The Giver and the Given
One Sunday, my family and I were driving to church. I had brought $20 with me to buy something at a store we were going to afterward. We had come up to this intersection as I saw a homeless man on the side of the road begging for a few dollars. I decided to give the twenty dollars to him. He was happy but I can't say the same for my mom. She told me how they might use the money for things other than food. I knew this was true but I also know whether people will use it right. I came back with an argument basically saying: "Are we not called to give to the needy?" I knew that I did the right thing to do, even though my mom may disagree.
